Welcome to our website. We are a family of 5 that travel the country full-time in our camper. We currently travel in a 2023 Flagstaff Classic 832BWS, a 37' bunkhouse travel trailer with 4 slide outs, and pull it with our 2021 Chevrolet 2500HD Z71 Duramax diesel. When we started out in out July of 2022, we were travelling in a 2022 Heartland Prowler 303BH, 36' bunkhouse travel trailer. In April 2023, we upgraded to our current camper.
Hi, we're Danielle and Mike. Originally from the Bayou Country in South Louisiana, we sold our brick and mortar home for life on the road in our camper. We travel with our 3 youngest children, Anna, James, and William. Mike's oldest son, Cameron, is a career firefighter and can't travel full time with us. Our children have been home schooling since 2020, so we thought this would give them the opportunity to see what they are learning about in person.
The original plan was Mike would retire and we would travel for a couple of months before moving to Florida. In July 2022, Mike retired after 25 years in the fire service and we sold our home in Houma. We put all of our summer clothes into the camper and packed our winter clothes into suitcases. We grabbed our bikes, fishing tackle, and told the kids to pick a few toys to bring with us. Everything else from our house, furniture, dishes, kids toys, dress clothes, etc, went into a storage unit. We loaded up the family and hit the road. It was bittersweet leaving almost everything we ever knew in Houma and not knowing what the future held for us. Mike grew up in Houma. Danielle grew up in Bourg, just outside Houma. This was our home, but on to new beginnings.
We were headed out on what was to be a 3 to 4 month adventure. God had other plans for us though. A month and a half after hitting the road, we were in Tennessee and received a phone call that no one wants. The storage facility where all of our belongings were stored had caught fire. All 48 units in the building burned. We cancelled the rest of our trip and headed back to Louisiana. Earlier that week, we had sat down with the kids to discuss the possibility of going full-time. The kids loved the idea, we just needed to figure out what to do with all of our stuff. We felt this was a sign to make our decision of becoming full time travellers a reality.

So now almost everything we own is packed into our truck and camper. We invite you to follow along here on our website and on our social media accounts. Most of our content will be posted on our social media pages, but we will keep this site updated as well. Mike will be doing blogs on here from time to time as well, so check back. Now if you see us on the road, be sure to wave and say hello.

You will usually find us at a Thousand Trails or Sun Outdoors Resort. Our favorites are Thousand Trails Orlando and Sun Outdoors Pigeon Forge. TTO is close to Disney and family, while SO Pigeon Forge is very beautiful in the fall and within minutes to all the attractions in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area.
Thousand Trails, with over 200 campgrounds nationwide, offers memberships that allow you to stay with no nightly fees. With the Thousand Trails Camping Pass you can stay up to 14 days at a time at one park. They also offer 3 different Elite memberships as well, that offer 21 day stays and bookings 180 days in advance! The advance booking is needed if you plan to travel to popular destinations in peak seasons. Sun Outdoors has over 140 beautiful resorts from coast to coast. From luxury to themed to water park style resorts, Sun Outdoors is the ultimate vacation experience. They also offer some really cool deals throughout the year so visit their website to book your trip today.
On travel days we stay at KOA campgrounds, as they make great overnight stops being close to the interstate. With our KOA Rewards membership, we not only earn points but get a discount with every stay. Then there is KOA Rewards Weekend, where rewards members stay for free. Being members of Thousand Trails, Good Sam, and KOA allows us to travel with ease.
We didn't forget about state parks. State parks are typically inexpensvie and can offer some great outdoor activities. Like Buccaneer State Park in Mississippi is not only on the beach but has a water park also. Myrtle Beach State Park in South Carolina is a beautifull wooded campground that opens up to a beach right on the Atlantic Ocean. Alabama has some of our favorite state parks though, like Lake Guntersville and Wind Creek State Parks. Just Northeast of Montgomery, Wind Creek State Park sits on the shores of Lake Martin offering ziplining, hiking trails, boating, fishing, and much more.
We are also proud members of Fulltime Families, a communtiy of families like us that travel full-time, which helps us connect with others just about everywhere we visit. We have made some amazing friends through Fulltime Families.
